Awesome sofa wrap idea

I'm going to try and redo some of our furniture, and I saw this picture and article online. It gives great visuals with the instructions (that always helps me). It's simpler than it looks too. Go and look, I especially appreciate the wooden dowel idea that helps prevent slipcovers from coming untucked. Arghh! I don't mean to sound dramatic, but ours is ALWAYS coming untucked and it drives me crazy. Hopefully this will help!

Check. it. out. And have a lovely day!

Cash Gifts

Since my children are all grown now, my husband and I have gone more and more toward giving cash for Birthdays, graduations, etc.
I like folding the bills into these Origami Shirts. We've found that cash is always a welcome gift, and the shirt shape makes it more interesting and fun to receive.

Here's an easy tutorial:

Lawn & Garden Care

Anyone with a Green Thumb? A degree in earthy stuff? Or any great knowledge of gardening/ yard work? I'm sure I'm not the only one with these issues, so I am asking a few questions and hopefully I can get some "master gardener" advice.
1. What do you use to control/ kill Morning Glory?
2. How do you "prepare" your vegetable garden for next year? Compost? Soil?
3. When is the best time to plant trees? I've heard so many mixed answers to this question from local nurseries, so I hope that someone has "tested" it and really knows!
Oh, I have so many more questions, but these are the TOP ones I have right now.
Anyone?

A gift for your spouse!

Here is what I did for father's Day, but you could also do it for a birthday, Anniversary or Christmas. I have three kids, so I made a frame, and made three photo spots. Then I took A picture that was of my husband with each of the kids individually, (usually when he held them as babies). I made them black and white and enlarged them to 8x10 size. I painted the frame black and stenciled in "A Father's Touch" below the pictures. He loved it. Not sure if I like the stuff I added along the top, but i thought it was a cute idea.

Just thought that I would share this website that I found with everyone. I found it to have some great ideas especially ones regarding Family Home Evening. The web address is www.theideadoor.com

an enrichment leader handed this out the other week. It's a great resource for getting your food & emergency storage together. (A bit overwhelming, but awesome to have!)

I need help!!!

So this isn't posting any useful information. I just need help and thought this would be a great place to find it. I just got put in charge of our neighborhood/ward Christmas Party for 2009 (I know I'm a little early, but if I can get some ideas now it won't be as stressful then) I was hoping to catch you before Christmas was completely out the door! So, my idea is to have "A Night at Bethlehem" and turn the gymnasium/ or field across the street into a recreation of Bethlehem. I want to have tax collectors (Roman Soldiers) at the entrance collecting the taxes (canned food for our canned food drive) and then you enter in to the city where there are different shops--ie a carpenter shop, a bakery (serving scones), an Inn with no room and then a live Nativity next to it. Then as they leave I want to have the Wise men coming bringing gifts to everyone with some type of something with the thought, "Wise men seek Him Still" Anyhow, so I am wondering if any of you have been to a live nativity or something similar to this and looking for ideas for additional "shops" and things. Thanks so much for your help!!
